At Cavoodle Of Aussie Rehome, we place ethical governance at the heart of our mission. As a registered nonprofit organisation, we lead with transparency, uphold accountability, and act with compassion. Every decision, policy, and procedure actively reflects our unwavering dedication to Cavoodle welfare across Australia.
We built our governance framework to protect the interests of the animals we care for, the communities we support, and the volunteers, carers, and donors who empower our work.
Organisational Structure
A volunteer Board of Directors governs Cavoodle Of Aussie Rehome. These dedicated individuals bring expertise in animal welfare, veterinary science, nonprofit management, law, and community engagement. The Board actively oversees strategic direction, financial stewardship, and compliance with all relevant legislation.
Key operational roles include

• Veterinary Liaison Officer
• Community Engagement Lead
• Treasurer & Compliance Officer
All team members are bound by our Code of Conduct and are required to act in accordance with our organisational values and policies.
Core Policies
We maintain and regularly review a suite of policies to ensure ethical, safe and effective operations. These include:
1. Animal Welfare Policy
We adhere to the Five Domains of Animal Welfare and ensure that all Cavoodles in our care receive:
• Appropriate nutrition, shelter and veterinary treatment
• Behavioural enrichment and socialisation
• Protection from harm, neglect and exploitation
• Individualised care plans based on temperament and health status
2. Foster & Adoption Policy
Our foster and adoption procedures are designed to prioritise the long-term wellbeing of each Cavoodle. This includes:
• Rigorous screening of applicants
• Home checks and reference verification
• Matching dogs to homes based on lifestyle, experience and compatibility
• Post-placement support and follow-up
3. Surrender & Intake Policy
We accept surrendered Cavoodles under compassionate and confidential terms. Each intake is assessed for:
• Immediate health and behavioural needs
• Suitability for foster placement
• Long-term rehoming prospects
We do not accept dogs for breeding, resale or commercial purposes.
4. Volunteer & Carer Code of Conduct
All volunteers and foster carers must:
• Treat animals and humans with respect and dignity
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Follow all safety protocols and reporting procedures
• Represent the organisation ethically in public and online spaces
5. Privacy & Data Protection Policy
We actively protect the personal information of adopters, carers, donors, and volunteers. Our team stores all data securely and uses it solely for operational purposes, following the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
6. Financial Accountability Policy
As a nonprofit entity, we uphold strict financial controls and reporting standards. We allocate all donations exclusively to rescue, rehabilitation, veterinary care, and operational costs. The Board reviews annual financial statements and provides them upon request.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
Cavoodle Of Aussie Rehome complies with:
• The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) regulations
• State-based animal welfare legislation
• Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards for volunteers and carers
• Fundraising and donation laws applicable in each jurisdiction
